Hand Pump Project: Sharing Clean Water and the Living Water of Jesus Christ in Pakistan

Meeting Physical Needs, Opening Doors for the Gospel

In many villages across Pakistan, families walk miles under the scorching sun just to fetch water for cooking, drinking, and daily use. Women and children carry heavy buckets, often making the trip twice a day. For them, clean water is not a convenience — it is a struggle for survival.

Through the Hand Pump Project, Good Samaritan Ministries is bringing life-changing clean water directly into these communities. Each hand pump installed provides 24-hour access to safe water, removing the daily burden of long journeys and giving families dignity, health, and hope.

But this project is about more than clean water. Every hand pump becomes a testimony of God’s love and a door to share about the Living Water — Jesus Christ (John 4:14).

How the Hand Pump Project Works

Many friends have asked about how the installation works. Our team carefully plans each project by:

  • Hiring local workers from the nearest city.

  • Purchasing drilling equipment, pipes, and all necessary materials.

  • Traveling into remote, hard-to-reach areas — often through challenging terrain.

  • Drilling 55-65 feet deep to reach clean, sustainable water sources.

The process is not easy, but the result is life-transforming. Communities that once struggled every day now have clean water right at their doorstep.

Church Planting Through Compassion

We believe that church planting in Pakistan begins with compassion. By meeting urgent physical needs, hearts are opened to receive the message of Christ’s love. When families see the practical care shown through a hand pump, they also begin to understand the True Love of God.

Each installation gives us the opportunity to gather with families, pray with them, and introduce them to the hope found in Jesus. From these connections, small fellowships are formed, discipleship begins, and the foundation is laid for new churches.

This is why the Hand Pump Project is more than humanitarian aid — it is a ministry of evangelism, discipleship, and church planting.

A Small Cost, An Eternal Impact

Each hand pump costs just $100, covering drilling, materials, and installation. For such a small cost, entire communities are transformed — both physically and spiritually.

Right now, we need 50 hand pumps to bless 50 different communities. That means, with $5,000, thousands of lives could be touched with clean water and The message of Christ.
