Urdu Church App · Good Samaritan Ministries · October 2026
For generations, Urdu-speaking Christians have gathered around a single Bible, a hymn book and a faithful pastor. Today a new kind of gathering place has arrived, one that fits in every pocket.
Urdu Church is the first Christian app of its kind built for the Urdu-speaking congregation, in Pakistan and across the diaspora: the Bible, worship, learning, ministry training and everyday tools, all in one place, in Urdu and English.
Thousands of downloads around the world in a few months
Within just a few months of its launch, thousands of people all over the world have downloaded Urdu Church. Families in Lahore, Karachi and the villages of Punjab use it alongside Pakistani Christians in the Gulf, Europe, North America and beyond. Wherever an Urdu-speaking believer lives, the app brings the church family together in the language of the heart.
Thousands reading the Urdu Bible every day
At the centre of Urdu Church is the Word of God. Every day thousands of people open the Urdu Bible in the app: believers growing in their faith, seekers discovering Jesus Christ for the first time, and hidden believers who may not be able to keep a printed Bible at home, reading quietly on their phones. For many, the app is the first time they have had the whole Bible in Urdu in their hands at any moment of the day.
Ministry certificates and licences, in Urdu and English
Urdu Church offers structured ministry training programmes leading to certificates and ministry licences, taught in both Urdu and English. Already 1,106 students are enrolled, studying the Bible, doctrine and Christian service at their own pace. For pastors, evangelists, Sunday school teachers and young leaders who could never travel to a seminary, the app brings sound biblical training to their phone.
Professional courses that open doors
Faith and future go together. The Education section offers free professional courses, and over 700 students are already taking them:
- IELTS for study and work abroad
- OET for nurses and healthcare professionals
- PTE academic English
- NCLEX-RN preparation for nurses
- Duolingo English Test preparation
- Study Abroad and Scholarships guidance
- Adult School for those who missed the chance to study
- Matric School for 10th-class students preparing for board exams
Each course is bilingual, with lessons, quizzes and certificates, so a young person in a small town can prepare for an international exam without expensive coaching.
Exam Prep for government jobs
The Exam Prep section helps young Christians compete for government careers, with full preparation courses for the One Paper jobs test, CSS and PMS: hundreds of lessons covering general knowledge, Pakistan affairs, everyday science, English, Urdu, mathematics and computer basics.
Ministry tools and the Pastoral Guide
Urdu Church is built to serve those who serve. Pastors and church workers have ministry tools for their congregations, and the Pastoral Guide offers practical help for preaching, pastoral care, weddings, funerals and leading a church family through every season of life.
Free premium studio tools
Many churches and ministries now share God’s Word through video. Urdu Church includes studio tools that usually cost money, free for everyone:
- Teleprompter: write a sermon, a Bible reading or a message, and the words scroll on screen while you record.
- Dual Camera: record with the front and back cameras at the same time, ideal for sermons, testimonies and teaching.
- Voice Recording: record messages, prayers and lessons clearly on your phone.
- Document Scanner: scan letters, certificates and church papers in seconds.
Everyday tools for Christian families
- Expenses: keep track of family or church spending simply and clearly.
- Healthy Living: a personal food and health diary to care for the body God has given us, with daily tracking that stays in sync across your phones.
- Bible Quiz: fun, faith-building quizzes for children, youth and families to learn the Scriptures together.
