A day of thanksgiving
On 24 October 2025, Good Samaritan Ministries Pakistan completed sixteen years of ministry. Leaders, pastors, evangelists, teachers and church members travelled from across Pakistan to give thanks together — for a journey that began in 2009 with a single Bible and a promise, and that the Lord has carried, year after year, by His grace alone.
The day was filled with worship and testimony. One after another, people stood to tell what God had done: a church where there had been none, a Bible read for the first time in a mother tongue, a child in school who would otherwise have been at a brick kiln, a family fed through a hard winter. Every story ended the same way — to God be the glory.
Sixteen years at a glance
- Churches planted across many regions of Pakistan, giving congregations their own place of worship and fellowship.
- Thousands of free Urdu Bibles placed in homes, so that people can read God’s Word in their own language.
- A tuition-free Christian school that has educated more than 500 children since March 2021, building a future of hope.
- Revelation Bible College, training pastors, evangelists and leaders since 2018.
- Countless families cared for through food relief, support for widows, freedom for families in bonded labour, and community care.
The message: the Good Samaritan
Rev. Dr. Naeem Nasir, Founding President of Good Samaritan Ministries Pakistan, preached from Luke 10:30–37 — the story that gave the ministry its name. He reminded everyone that the parable is not history to be admired but a call to be obeyed:
“We are surrounded by people who are spiritually wounded, living in darkness and far from the knowledge of the true God. Just as the Samaritan saw the wounded man and was moved with compassion, we are called to see, to love and to help those in need — because Jesus is the Balm of Gilead, the only One who can heal their spiritual wounds.”
Speaking to the pastors, evangelists and leaders who serve under the umbrella of Good Samaritan Ministries, he urged every believer to take up the responsibility of being a Good Samaritan to the hurting: to love without boundaries, to serve with humility, and to carry the light of Jesus Christ to those who are lost and broken.
Honouring the co-workers
Much of what happened in these sixteen years was done quietly, by men and women whose names are rarely printed: the pastors who walk to villages, the teachers who open the school gate every morning, the volunteers who load the Bibles and cook the meals. The celebration gave the whole family of churches a chance to thank them, and to pray for them, before the year ahead.
Looking ahead with faith
The celebration was not only a moment to look back; it was a declaration of faith for the years to come. The vision is unchanged — to reach the unreached, to plant more churches, and to touch more lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ — and the team and partners around the world stand together in prayer, believing that Pakistan will be transformed by the light of God’s Word.
