Revival in Pakistan · By Rev. Dr. Naeem Nasir, Founding President, Good Samaritan Ministries · October 2026
Churches, Christian organisations and men and women of God across Pakistan are sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in spite of persecution, and the harvest is growing. What the Lord has been doing through Good Samaritan Ministries since 2009, and how you can be part of it this Christmas.
Something is stirring in Pakistan.
In a land where Christians are fewer than two in every hundred, where believers face discrimination, false accusations and the daily weight of poverty, the Church is not shrinking back. Across every province, churches and Christian organisations, pastors and evangelists, teachers and ordinary believers are doing what the Lord Jesus commanded: they are going into all the world and proclaiming the Good News to every creature. Great men and women of God are preaching in cities and villages, planting churches where there was no witness, placing free Urdu Bibles into eager hands, running Christian schools, standing beside the persecuted, feeding the hungry and showing the love of God in word and deed.
This is revival in its truest form. It is not a single event but a steady, Spirit-led advance. House fellowships are multiplying under pressure. Crowds gather in open grounds to hear the Word preached. Families who once hid their faith now worship openly. Every church planted, every Bible given, every child educated and every hungry family fed is a declaration that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ, not even in Pakistan. Good Samaritan Ministries is one part of this larger move of God, and we share below what the Lord has been doing through this work.

Revival Crusades and Evangelism
Since the inception of Good Samaritan Ministries in 2009, proclaiming the Gospel has been the heartbeat of the work. It began small: street evangelism, home meetings, a handful of believers sharing Christ with neighbours. From those beginnings the Lord opened doors to large open-air Gospel crusades in cities, towns and villages across Pakistan. Each crusade brings worship, the preached Word and prayer for the sick. Thousands gather, many hearing the name of Jesus for the first time. The sick are prayed for, and many testify to healing. Every night closes with an altar call, and hundreds, often thousands, respond to repent and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Since 2009 more than two hundred evangelistic meetings have been held and hundreds of thousands of people have heard the Gospel. Every new believer is followed up by trained counsellors and connected to a local church, so that a decision becomes a disciple.

Free Urdu Bibles Distribution
Revival cannot be sustained without the Word of God, and millions in Pakistan have never held a Bible in their own language. Since 2009 Good Samaritan Ministries has distributed more than 150,000 free Urdu Bibles to individuals, families, churches, schools and crusade grounds in every province, completely free of charge, with no condition attached. Among them are more than 50,000 illustrated children’s Bibles, pastor’s reference Bibles for those who shepherd new congregations, Urdu New Testaments for new believers and Gospels of John for first-time readers. Requests arrive daily by phone and message from pastors in Lahore and Karachi and from believers in remote villages, and delivery is arranged nationwide. One Bible reaches one family, and that family becomes a light to its street. The vision before us is one million free Urdu Bibles in Pakistani homes by 2033.

Church Planting in Pakistan
A crusade gathers a crowd; a church keeps a family. Since 2009 Good Samaritan Ministries has been planting churches from the streets of Lahore to villages where the Gospel had never been heard, with more than thirty established churches and over a hundred house fellowships now worshipping across Pakistan. Each church is built on the same foundations: bold proclamation of the Gospel, discipleship grounded in Scripture, hope for the poor and persecuted, transformed lives and a community where believers belong. One congregation worshipped for more than fifty years in a single ten-by-ten-foot room; today a beautiful church building stands where over three hundred believers gather every Sunday. Local pastors trained through Revelation Bible College lead these churches, and every congregation is equipped with free Urdu Bibles. The vision is simple and large: a church in every city, town and village of this nation.

Christian Schools
Revival reaches the next generation through education. In March 2021 Maranatha Christian High School opened in Lahore with a clear purpose: to give free, quality, Christ-centred education to children from poor and persecuted Christian families who could not otherwise go to school. Today more than five hundred children study there without paying a single rupee in fees, and no child is ever turned away because of poverty. God’s Word is taught every day alongside a full academic curriculum, in a safe and loving environment where children who were once overlooked are learning that they were created with purpose. What began as a small step of faith has become a beacon of hope for hundreds of families, and a visible sign that the Church in Pakistan cares for its children.

Standing With the Persecuted and Raising Up the Young
Alongside preaching and teaching, Good Samaritan Ministries stands with those who suffer for the name of Christ. Families driven from their homes, labourers trapped in generational debt at the brick kilns, widows and the hungry are helped in practical ways: food, shelter, legal help and the assurance that they are not forgotten. At the same time, the ministry invests in the future of the Church by sponsoring Christian students through college and university, and in some cases study abroad, so that a persecuted minority can produce doctors, teachers, engineers and leaders who serve both their nation and their Lord. Training at Good Samaritan Church headquarters in Lahore has already equipped more than 1,500 young people with digital and business skills, and Revelation Bible College has trained over a thousand pastors, evangelists and church planters now serving in every province. Education, for the Church in Pakistan, is not a luxury. It is a lifeline and a witness.
This Christmas
Christmas is coming, the season when we remember that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. In Pakistan that Word is still being carried, by hand, into homes that have never had it. As you prepare to celebrate the birth of our Saviour, we invite you to be part of what God is doing here. Give towards free Urdu Bibles so that a family opens the Scriptures this Christmas for the first time. Help plant a church in a village that has no witness. Partner with Maranatha Christian High School so another child receives a free, Christ-centred education. Sponsor a Christian student through college. Help a Christian family at the brick kilns breathe free. Every Bible, every church, every classroom and every rescued family is a seed of revival, and the harvest in Pakistan is plentiful. Pray with us, stand with us, and let this Christmas be remembered in Pakistan for the light that came into the darkness.
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations.” Matthew 24:14
